The Societies’ Council for the Collective Management of Performers’ Rights (SCAPR) and the Ibero-Latin American Federation of Performing and Executant Artists (FILAIE) are pleased to announce the signing of a historic framework agreement. This partnership lays the groundwork for enhanced cooperation between both federations, enabling all Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) affiliated with FILAIE to access SCAPR’s International Performer Number (IPN) Creation Tool, thereby paving the way for improved data exchange management and more streamlined remuneration processes.

Under this agreement, Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) that are members of FILAIE will now be able to create and assign International Performer Numbers (IPNs) to the artists they represent, boosting their capacity to manage data effectively on a cross-border level and enhancing accuracy in remuneration processes. Technical integration for FILAIE societies will begin soon, ensuring they are prepared to use this identification tool efficiently and in alignment with SCAPR’s global standards.

For FILAIE President Luis Cobos, the agreement “reflects the shared dedication of SCAPR and FILAIE to advance the field of collective management through the use of technology and cooperative frameworks. This partnership represents significant progress for many artists and further strengthens the vital role of CMOs in an increasingly digital and interconnected music ecosystem.”

“This milestone marks an important step in developing our cooperation with CMOs in Latin America,” said Remy Desrosiers, SCAPR’s General Director. “Providing access to the IPN Creation Tool for FILAIE members reinforces our commitment to fostering greater international collaboration in the management of artists and performers’ rights, ultimately benefiting performers worldwide by ensuring their contributions are more effectively recognized and rewarded.”
